Yes, I know, it's ANOTHER one. But instead of, oh, complaining about all the mary sue OCs, shippings, etc., I thought I can just hopefully cheer people up with some good pointers?

Obviously, we are still reading some "un-scary" creepypastas, but take heart, there are still creepy writers out there. Of course, they don't get enough recognition because other stories tend to pass them because they are more popular due to, oh, their hate.

The fandom is not overrun with mary-sue OCs. It's just they tend to appear more because people like to post them in a bunch of groups. People with GOOD (as in, back story, etc.) and horrifying OCs are just less known, you know? Take for example today's world. You rarely hear of the common heroes like firefighters because the news are always talking about corrupt celebrities and politicians.

I guess people are joining the fan base because so many people secretly like horror, whether they want to admit it or not, or whether or not they are even a part of the horror fandom. The creepypasta fandom, I must admit, can be a quick way to "Internet popularity", or at least on this website. People don't have to read a long comic like Homestuck or watch an equally long television show such as Doctor Who, instead, people just see Jeff's face and they can instantly join the fandom by creating an OC who kills or is creepy or drawing fan art, which is sad because the newcomers, often they are young teenagers and they want the "quick" way to popularity, so they spend less time developing an OC (then again, I'm being a hypocrite because I am a young teenager, but I put a lot of time into my creations, when I could have easily just stick "the Killer" to the end of a name).

Now, there are still awesome people in the fan base, such as the comic artists and the creepypasta readers, but lately, it's been dying down. I mean, even now there are awesome artists joining the fan base, but I think just the fact that too many ideas are being used that people are resorting to the OCs people dub as "mary-sue".

Everything dies down eventually, but I feel the creepypasta fandom is dying too quickly. Personally, I do not want to leave the fan base, and I want to help my friends in every way who do want to leave, or are thinking about it. Maybe we will have to move on in the future, but now could be too soon, especially since there are artists and writers who have joined the fanbase.

I find it quite curious really, that creepypasta is basically horror stories that have originated on the Internet, but nowadays, all we talk about are the characters that we have created. I mean, creepypasta are stories, sure, there will be morbid fan-girls, as there are always crazy fan-girls in about every work of literature presently. I feel like, maybe the fanbase just needs to rejuvenate themselves, start fresh, after all, the new year is coming. Maybe some people will leave. Maybe some people will produce more creative horror works. Who knows really, but I do know, that I don't want to leave, even if I'm too lazy to write stories for my OCs, or even if my OCs will be criticized, or even if I really will leave the fandom one day. Creepypasta has been the entire reason why I'm still here, or even how I found my friends and my dA family. c:

And it looks like that the Creepypasta fandom has died...

Maybe it's still alive I don't know. But I'm not hearing much anymore from it.
